Once American megastar, Lady Gaga announced two months ago that she will be holding 4 concert shows in Singapore in May 2025, I decided to try my luck on purchasing her tickets. It must be difficult to get the tickets as Singapore is the only stop in Asia for her concerts this year. To my surprise and excitement, I managed to secure the tickets!
Titled ‘Lion City Mayhem’, the 4 shows are scheduled on 18th, 19th, 21st and 24th of May 2025 at Singapore’s National Stadium. Each show has a seating capacity of around 55 000 people. The tickets I bought are priced at the second lowest (SGD$198 excluding the admin charges) for the show on the 21st (yesterday). It’s a Wednesday and hence I have to rush to get a quick dinner and then to the stadium for the concert after my work ended. By the way, the most expensive tickets are priced at SGD$1348 each!
Her shows in Singapore is regarded as part of Mayhem promotional concerts this year that precede the Mayhem Ball, in support of her eighth studio album, Mayhem (2025). She headlined the Coachella music festival in California, USA on April 11 and 18. This is followed by performances in Mexico, Brazil and then Singapore – her first shows in these countries since the Born This Way Ball tour in 2012. I did watched parts of these shows before the Singapore’s ones and they are indeed all almost exactly the same.
Anyway, I still enjoyed it very much to be able to see (although hardly as I was so far away from the stage) and hear her performing live in front of me yesterday. She really has an absolutely amazing and strong vocal. I felt like I was not watching a concert anymore, but rather a superb theatrical show where cool narratives, props, costumes, acts and choreography were involved. I just had a slight complaint whereby the show was a little too short as it took just one hour and 50 minutes long (even less than 2 hours).

Some of her iconic songs she performed include ‘Born This Way’, ‘Abracadabra’, ‘Die With A Smile’, ‘Paparazzi’, ‘Poker Face’, ‘Alejandro’, ‘Judas’, ‘Shallow’ and of course ‘Bad Romance’. Her hit songs were able to live up almost the entire audiences easily last night. I even felt a little emotional when she performed ‘Shallow’, a slow sentimental ballad song which is the main single from 2018’s drama film ‘A Star Is Born’ of which she starred in the movie as well. The song is arguably my most favourite song by her and is quite a contrast to her usual songs with loud beats.
I very much enjoyed the concert despite the heat, the tight seating space and late start of the show (scheduled at 8pm but only commenced at 8.40pm). Anyway, Lady Gaga rocks! What a performer! By the way, this was actually my first time attending a concert by a Western artist!
